Skimmer technology
Skimmer is a device with a rectangular shape mounted in the swimming pool wall placed at the height of a water surface, about 10 cm below the basin border. The device is connected to the pipe system, the filtration pump sucks water and any impurities (leaves, insects, dust) and it is transferred to the filter; after filtration the purified water goes back to the swimming pool.
This type of technology is usually used in private swimming pools where there are not many users. Skimmer is usually made of ABS/PVC or stainless steel. Each skimmer is equipped with a basket; the purpose of which is to stop large particles from getting into the swimming pool pump.

An overflow rim is a “grating”, which can be seen in the objects mentioned above. Its task, like in the case of the skimmer, is to collect impurities from the water surface. This technology is more complicated than skimmer technology. The rim is mounted on the edge of the pool, and the water that is overflowing, goes directly into the rim, which is covered with a “grating”. Then the water is collected in the overflow tank and when a given level is reached, water is sucked in by the pump. In the filter, purification process occurs, then the water is pushed out into the pool via nozzles.
